Use PDGA approved discs. Count 1 stroke each time the disc is thrown towards basket from tee pad, or when a penalty (out of bounds on asphalt for example) is incurred. The object is to get the least amount of strokes to get the lowest score. When disc is within 30' (10 meters) of basket, player may not step past the front edge of the disc laying on the ground. Disc must come to rest inside basket or chains to complete that hole.
