Description
14 holes are in tight trees and rolling landscape, the remaining are in an open gravel pit and shrubbery. A good variety of shots and conditions add unique challenges. Targets are beer kegs mounted on 4x4 posts. The front nine is the patched remains of the old course layout starting and ending near the parking lot. The holes are super diverse, playing first into the woods and then out into the open two tiered gravel pit. Wind can be swirly and unpredictable, expect a roller coaster on windy days. The back nine is a much more technical and wooded with a somewhat confusing walk between holes 10 and 11 (just walk along and past the baseball diamond on the left field side until you reach 11's tee box through an opening in the alders). The back nine rough is rough, just stay in the fairway and you'll be fine. For the controlled thrower it's birdie alley, for the beginner, it can be a nightmare. Follow the signs and check out the current course map. There are 2 visible kegs that are NOT part of the current course that locals use as "tweener" holes between holes 7 and 8. and holes 8 and 9. These holes are optional, just check your course map if there is any confusion, it's clear which is which. Note: There is an "old course" layout that is still playable. There is no signage for it, and some of it is a bit grown in, but there are still course maps floating around and most locals know the way. There are multiple restrooms near the parking lot, but the one in Dalton City (next to the ski shop) is only one that is unlocked over the winter.
