Description
The Slate Canyon course is located on the side of a mountain. There is almost no shade so if you are planning on playing in the summer bring a lot of water and snacks. There are 18 holes. Very hilly. When you play this course you will be doing a lot of hiking. If you throw off, you can be hiking along very steep hills. This being said, this course is very fun. There are lots of very unique holes and two "top of the world" elevation shots. Most of the holes are around 300 ft. If you play this course, it is a good idea to take a picture of the course map at the start of the course. This course is not extremely technical, but is not for beginners as bad throws are punished severely. One thing to note is that there are lots of rocks, so your discs can get chewed up pretty good if they are not great plastic. Champion or equivalent plastic has held up pretty well for me. Be careful walking down the hill going from basket 9 to tee 10. After you have thrown hole 10, do not attempt to walk directly toward the basket The hill is too steep to walk down. Instead either walk back and take the deer trail down to the bottom level or walk a little past tee 10 and take the deer trail that cuts back south down to the bottom level.
